The EAR Yoshino MC4 is a passive moving-coil step-up transformer designed for use ahead of a compatible moving-magnet phono stage. It increases the output of a low-output moving-coil cartridge without requiring an external power supply.

The four selectable input impedances of 3, 6, 12 and 40 ohms provide options for cartridge matching. The unit is supplied with a chrome front panel and chrome transformer covers.
