The NAD C 316BEE V2 is an analogue stereo integrated amplifier rated at 40 watts per channel into 8 or 4 ohms. NAD’s PowerDrive circuit provides additional dynamic headroom for changing musical demands and loudspeaker loads, while the defeatable bass and treble controls allow simple tonal adjustment without remaining in the signal path when they are not required.

Five line-level inputs accommodate conventional source components, and the built-in moving-magnet phono stage connects a turntable without a separate preamplifier. A front-panel input is provided for portable sources, with a dedicated headphone output for private listening. The focused analogue design is supplied with a remote control and automatic standby operation.

Why I love it

NAD’s BEE series is near and dear to me. My own C320BEE, paired with Totem Rainmakers, helped reignite my love of hi-fi, a chapter of the story that eventually led to Speaker & Song. The C 316BEE V2 is a fantastic starting point for someone beginning their own journey. I like its straightforward, fully analogue design, built-in moving-magnet phono stage and useful tone controls, which you can bypass when you prefer. It’s an integrated amplifier I’m happy to recommend for a first system.
