The NAD PP 2e is a compact phono preamplifier that provides the gain and RIAA equalization required to connect a turntable to a conventional line-level input. Separate moving-magnet and moving-coil inputs accommodate a wider range of cartridges, selected using the rear-panel MM/MC switch.

Its low-noise, wide-band circuit is powered by an external 24-volt supply, helping keep the power source away from the sensitive phono signal. Gold-plated input and output sockets provide durable connections, and an automatic power-down function reduces energy use when no signal is present. The PP 2e is intended for amplifiers or powered speakers without a suitable built-in phono stage.
