The Nagaoka MP-300 is a machined-aluminium-frame cartridge in the moving-permalloy range, pairing a boron cantilever with a 0.4 × 0.7 mil elliptical diamond stylus. A machined aluminium frame supports the cartridge assembly.

With 3.0 mV output, it is intended for a moving-magnet phono input—not a low-output moving-coil setting. Nagaoka specifies a 1.3–1.8 g tracking force and 47 kΩ loading. The JN-P300 stylus assembly is replaceable, so the cartridge body can remain in service when the stylus needs renewing.
