The Rega Aphelion 2 is a reference low-output moving-coil cartridge built around a hand-wound micro-cross and coil assembly attached directly to a boron-rod cantilever. A fine-line nude-diamond stylus is mounted through 90 degrees, and the generator is housed in a graded, zero-tolerance black-anodized aluminium body.

The cartridge has a nominal output of 350 μV, a specified 100 Ω input load and a recommended tracking force of 1.9 g. It uses Rega’s three-point mounting system and is designed to partner the company’s reference turntables and adjustable moving-coil phono stages.
