The Rega Mercury is a reference preamplifier with fully discrete, symmetrical circuitry through its core signal path. Analogue connections include balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs, while its built-in DAC accepts optical, coaxial and galvanically isolated asynchronous USB sources.

A discrete headphone amplifier, full-colour IPS display and backlit Orbit remote provide day-to-day usability. The linear power supply uses a toroidal transformer and localized supply stages, and the main outputs are DC coupled with dedicated protection circuitry.
